Grant Fraser was heavily involved with the Griffin Theatre Company as writer, lighting designer, director and production manager from 1979 to 1988.
His play Bill Posters Will be Prosecuted was read at The Australian National Playwrights Conference in 1978. His next play, Love and the Single Teenager, was workshopped by the Sydney Theatre Company in 1980 and produced by Griffin in 1981. Griffin also produced Cheap Thrills 91981), Street Level (1982) and Back Beat (1988. He was Griffin’s writer-in-Residence in 1984 and received a New Writers Fellowship from the Literature Board in 1986.
